Date: Thursday, 4 July
Time: 16:30 – 17.15 h (doors open 16.15 h)
Location: Energy Academy Building, Nijenborgh 6, Groningen

NOTE: For members of the Energy Community of Young Researchers only!

Join us on Thursday 4th of July for our last meet up, including an organic bbq and drinks!

Summer is here, which means the end of the academic year! To celebrate summertime and to wish each other a happy holiday, we will come together one more time as The Energy Community of Young Researchers!

Before having a drink and (organic) bbq, we will have a lecture from Dr. Machteld van den Broek; researcher and supervisor at the Energy & Resources Group of the Copernicus Institute. She investigates the energy transition from a system perspective with a sharp eye for detail and supervised European (Horizon2020), plus national TKI and NWO research projects, about energy efficiency and energy systems modelling.

“My experience encompasses energy system models like power and heat system simulation models, but also top-down macro-economic models. I know how to combine the strengths of different models, and interpret their results in the light of their weaknesses.”

Machteld will share her experience, and discuss ways to integrate policy, governance, law and planning into modelling. But she is also curious about you! So get involved and join the conversation, with your own expertise in mind. After the lecture we will all go outside to enjoy the weather, an (organic) bbq and some cold drinks!

16.30 – 17.15 Presentation Machteld van den Broek (location: Energy Academy Building)

17.15 – 20.00 BBQ and drinks (location: outside the building)

Are you a PhD candidate or young researcher with an interest in energy and the energy transition and do you want to become a member of our community? You are welcome to join! Just send an e-mail to:
