Every building is a potential power plant, so which business cases can we develop if we would be able to connect these power plants ourselves? How would you make a business case (and money) in a decentralized energy system and in a world that is slowly becoming renewable? Would it include an energy blockchain? Why? Why not? In this masterclass Envitron company challenges students of University of Groningen and Hanze UAS to think about ‘the energy internet’.
Within the energy transition we face many obstacles, and we are in need of some good solutions. Why not make use of the thousands of students we have right here at University of Groningen and Hanze UAS? Game on! Join in and expand your knowledge with unique perspectives. Hear the story about a Groningen Energy Startup: Envitron. Solve a business case in the new energy market and gain experience in a multidisciplinary team.
In 2015 a couple of enthusiastic young professionals built a self-sufficient sailing boat. In 2016 they named their partnership Envitron and won the Startup Fast Track (now: Energy Venture Lab), a business accelerator programme. In 2017, Envitron reiceived an investment participation and started working with some very smart IT programmers. Today they have an office at the Energy Transition Center EnTranCe at Zernike Campus Groningen: finishing their prototype and gearing up for production.
Marro Mijnans, CEO of Envitron, has a clear vision: develop one service device that enables us to monitor, control and share energy with our local environment. Let’s build the future energy system right here, on-campus: the world will follow your example.
14:00 – 14:45: Introduction about Envitron and the assignment by CEO Marro Mijnans
14:45 – 16:00: Development of the assignment and the presentation
16:00 – 17:00: Presentation of the ideas
