New Energy Coalition is proud to announce the kick-off of our Energy Academy programme of the new academic year, with the lecture “The Basics of Energy”.
Together we will go back to the core of the topic ‘sustainable energy’, making this topic more tangible and providing you with a broad, basic knowledge. You will increase your understanding on the interdisciplinary character of the energy sector, and how great the challenge of the energy transition really is.
Frans Debets will share his knowledge and vision about the energy transition and all it entails. He is an experienced consultant in the field of energy and mainly focuses on project development in the field of sustainable energy applications. In this work he has experienced that clients of governments and companies benefit from a better understanding about basic concepts of energy. That is why he developed low-threshold workshops and training courses to make these basic concepts more manageable for various target groups.
The Energy Lecture is available for everyone and could especially be interesting for those figuring out whether the topic “energy” fits their interests. It is also a great preparation if you’re taking a course about energy related topics. And even when you are already well-versed in this field, this lecture can give you a whole new perspective! Of course, the Energy Lecture will be interactive, as you will get the chance to ask questions, tackle problems and discuss different views with mister Debets and other participants.
It is defined as an Energy Learning Activity for students of the Hanze UAS and the University of Groningen. Students are invited to attend as many Energy Learning Activities as they want, at all stages of their education.
Energy Learning Activities are part of the Energy Academy Europe Certificate. If students follow 10 Energy Learning Activities and also complete 30 ECTS in energy courses at Hanze UAS or the University of Groningen, they are eligible for obtaining the EAE Certificate.
